Michelle Obama picked not one but two Asian designers to wear at the Commander in Chief’s Inaugural Ballin Washington, D.C. Monday night.

The first lady stepped out in a ruby halter-neck chiffon-and-velvet gown custom-made by Taiwan-born designer Jason Wu, who created the white gown she donned at the same event four years ago. Mr. Wu shared his reaction on Twitter with the hashtag “#inshock!!.”

As for her footwear, she chose shoes by Jimmy Choo, whose founder hails from Penang, Malaysia.
