Baku, Azerbaijan, July 24 By Rufiz Hafizoglu – Trend: Turkish Air Force completely destroyed the positions of the militants of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” (IS) on the border with Syria, the NTV channel reported July 24 citing Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

As the PM said the protection of the borders is the most important thing for Turkey, and Ankara will take any steps for this.

Earlier, some media reported that allegedly Turkey provided the Incirlik military base for fighting the IS militants.

On July 24, the Turkish Air Force resumed the bombing of the positions of IS in Syria.

The bombing of the IS positions destroyed the car caravan of the militants.

On July 24, at 03:50 (UTC/GMT +3 hours), four F16 aircraft of the Air Force of Turkey carried out strikes on the IS positions on the border with Syria.

As the Turkish military said, earlier five IS militants opened fire on the border patrol in the Kilis province using rocket-propelled grenades and Kalashnikov rifles.

As a result, one soldier was killed and two more were wounded.

Earlier this week, the Turkish city of Suruc on the border with Syria was hit by a powerful explosion. The terrorist attack killed 32 and injured about 100.

Turkish officials are holding IS responsible for the attack.
