DUBLIN, Ireland - China's Premier Li Keqiang has wrapped up a two day visit to Ireland.

The Chinese leader and his wife, accompanied by various other ministers from China arrived in Ireland on Sunday.

The visit came as the latest step in the deepening of contacts and relations between Ireland and China at the highest level, building on the Strategic Partnership Agreement agreed during Kenny's' visit to China in 2012. It also provided an opportunity to showcase Ireland to a wide Chinese audience as a location for investment, tourism and high quality food production.

The taoiseach met with the premier at Ashford Castle to discuss opportunities to strengthen trade, investment and tourism links between Ireland and China.

The pair also visited a farm in the area, run by the Garvey family, to give the Premier first-hand experience of Ireland's agri-food sector and to help promote Ireland as an environmentally friendly tourism destination. The farm visit also included traditional Irish music and dance, reflecting the strong interest in Irish culture in China.
