The bodies of two Russian diplomats who went missing in Nepal when a major earthquake struck the country last month have been found near the border with China.

The diplomats, employees at Russia's embassy in Pakistan, were in a high mountain region of Nepal when a 7.8 scale earthquake struck on April 25 -- killing more than 8,000 people.

Russia's Ambassador to Nepal Sergei Velichkinmissing said the two diplomats were found in the village of Langtang, which was in the area that was worse hit by the quake.

The embassy said the two were visiting Nepal as tourists and were in Langtang National Park, which is on the border with China's Tibet region, when the earthquake struck.
