Uzbek presidential candidates continue to meet with voters

The candidates of four political parties are running for the president

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, March 6 By Demir Azizov – Trend: Uzbek presidential candidates, nominated by political parties, and their authorized representative continue the pre-election agitation.

Earlier, the candidate of Uzbekistan’s Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP), the incumbent president, Islam Karimov met with voters in Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions.

The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Hotamzhon Ketmonov also visited the Syrdarya region, while the candidate of the Democratic Party Milly Tiklanish, Akmal Saidov was in the Samarkand region.

During their meetings, the presidential candidates present their electoral programs, which reflect their understanding of the main areas of development of domestic and foreign policies, and conducting the social and economic reforms.

They also exchange views with voters about the challenges ahead.

A survey conducted by the Izhtimoiy Fikr public opinion research center showed that currently 95.4 percent of Uzbek citizens are watching the presidential election campaign, and positively assess their level of awareness about the upcoming event, being ready to actively participate in the election.

Uzbekistan scheduled the presidential election for March 29. The election campaign kicked off on Dec. 26, 2014.

The candidates of four political parties are running for the president.
