Nepal to participate in Doha Int’l Weightlifting Cup from Dec 29

Nepali weightlifting team will participate in the Doha International Weightlifting Cup scheduled to start from December 29 to January 8, 2015 in Doha, Qatar.

Pukar Gurung will compete in the 105kg category in the tournament, according to Nepal Weightlifting Association (NWA) general secretary Partha Sarathi Sen Gupta.

NWA's vice-president and head coach Sunil Lal Joshi along with Gurung is scheduled to leave for Doha on Monday, December 29, 2014.

Similarly, NWA's president Ratan Kumar Tandon and general secretary Gupta are also scheduled to participate in the Electoral Congress on the sideline of the tournament, according to the association.

Likewise, association's vice-president and National Sports Council (NSC) member Surendra Hamal and Sanjay Maharjan are also flying Doha.

On the same occasion, the association will also acquaint the participants about the upcoming Asian Weightlifting Championship scheduled from July 20 to 30, 2015 in Kathmandu during the stay in Doha, said Gupta.
