Shinde in Maldives for SAARC Home Ministers meeting

New Delhi, Sept 24 (ANI): A high-level official delegation, led by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, is on visit to Maldives to attend the Fifth SAARC Home Ministers meeting to be held on September 26, 2012, an official release said.

Shinde is accompanied by Home Secretary R.K. Singh, and other senior officers.

The meeting of SAARC Home Ministers will be preceded by meetings of immigration authorities and SAARC Home Secretaries today and tomorrow.

The meeting is likely to discuss matters related to terrorism, maritime security and

piracy, combating trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and mutual

assistance in criminal matters.

Cyber crimes and trafficking in women and children in South Asia are other issues on the agenda.

On the sidelines of the SAARC meeting , Shinde is also likely to hold bilateral discussons with theHome Ministers of other SAARC countries. (ANI)
