Tbilisi, Georgia, Feb. 26 By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend: Georgia's economic prospects were discussed in Washington by the World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim and Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili.

Georgian government head called 2014 an important year, because the country's authorities expect to sign in August the agreement on Association and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union.

Garibashvili referring to the WB outlook, which predicts Georgia's economic growth of 6-7 percent in 2014, said the economic forecasts for the coming years are also optimistic.

The prime minister said this will strengthen the relations between Georgia and the EU, not only in the political and economic areas, but also in the security area.

He also highlighted the importance of cooperating with the WB, noting that the World Bank Group is a great partner of Georgia.

The prime minister said the Georgian government constantly holds discussions and exchange of ideas with the WB.

In turn, the WB president stressed that the education problem is very important for Georgia and the bank intends to help the country in this direction. The Abe government has also encouraged firms to invest abroad, especially in Southeast Asia.
