HSBC-OIB merger brings banking to the global stage

Expanding banking in Oman

Muscat: Oman International Bank (OIB) and HSBC customers will soon experience the benefits first hand of the new merged entity HSBC Bank Oman, as HSBC lends its significant international expertise to expanding banking in Oman.

By the end of the year as the operations and technology systems gradually integrate to become one, customers will have access to a full range of award-winning Retail Banking and Wealth Management products and services through state-of-the-art delivery channels such as a Phone Banking and Personal Internet Banking services.

They will also be able to make best use a newly-expanded network of 90 branches and 143 ATMs conveniently situated across the Sultanate. 

Previously Oman International Bank was the fifth largest bank in Oman whereas HSBC was the sixth. Together the new entity will be part of a greater international network and will be reflected in staff training, improvements in customer service, new products and services.

There will be rewarding financial options to suit varied lifestyles and every stage of life to help customers achieve their financial goals and save for their futures, from current accounts and home loans to college funds and retirement packages.
