Lawyers Zainul-Khokon secured ad interim bail

The High Court on Sunday gave ad interim bail to Supreme Court Ainjibi Samity president Adv Zainul Abedin and its secretary barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon.

A HC bench led by Justice Obaidul Hasan granted them the bail in a case filed for obstructing police from discharging their duties.

The cases were filed for creating sabotage on February 8 centreing BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's verdict.

Zainul Abedin and Khokon will on bail until police submitted the report.

Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Syed Iftekhar Uddin on Sunday said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been provided with division in jail following a court order.

The BNP staged demonstration in different areas of the capital on Saturday protesting the imprisonment of party chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

As part of the two-day programme, BNP leaders and activists brought out a protest procession in Dainik Bangla intersection around 1:20pm chanting slogans and staged demonstration there.
