Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesman Ifte Khayer Alam said the school changed the signboard on Friday , reported on Monday.

He said pro-Jamaat people were running the school and added that police had kept an eye on the activities of the institution.

The hoarding of the school, situated at Gazi Bhaban in Terokhadia, read "Legend Academy" on Sunday.

Some guardians told they noticed the change of the signboard on Sunday.

Earlier, had reported that educational institutions with the word 'Peace' in their names are under government inquiry after controversial televangelist Zakir Naik's Peace TV was taken off air in Bangladesh.

The 'Peace School' in Rajshahi, however, was yet to strip the previous name off the ID cards, bags and uniforms of the students.

The previous name, 'Peace School and College', has also been removed from the rickshaw-vans for the pupils.
