CeBIT: The world's leading fair for the digitization of the economy has started in Hanover, Germany. By 2020, many business processes are expected to involve the Internet of Things, and this is clearly reflected at the fair.

The software and data-processing industry in Bangladesh has had a successful track record of exporting to the USA and Europe for more than a decade now. Bangladesh has first participated at CeBIT fair in the year 2000 during the first tenur of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Highest percentage of technology-orientated investment has been done in the most Western European countries and is the gateway to the growing markets of the economic region South-Asia, specially for Bangladesh

The world's leading fair for the digitization of the economy has started in Hanover, Germany. Sajeeb Wazed, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh on ICT affairs, in the CeBIT Germany Podcast interview. CeBIT 2016 put digitalization at the top of the business, political and social agenda. Mr. Wazed said the government has targeted to train 75,000 professionals in the next three years to solve the problem

Bangladesh has participated in the CeBIT 2016 for the 16th time with nine companies. CeBIT is the world's largest and most influential information and communications technology trade fair. The annual event is owned and organised by Deutsche Messe AG and takes place at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds in Hanover, Germany. CeBIT 2016 ran for five days (14 to 18 March 2016), hosted 6,310 exhibiting companies from 100 different countries, 550,000 visitors and 10,000 journalists at a net display area of 309,000 square metres. In 2016, fifty-two per cent (52 per cent) of exhibitors came from abroad - a record high - once again underscoring CeBIT's reputation as a truly international exhibition.
