ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates -- Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt's Netflix original film War Machine is set to begin production in Abu Dhabi.

Miranda Davidson Studios, the studio behind the casting for Fast and Furious 7 has encouraged all physically fit aspiring actors in the area to respond to their casting call for extras. Production begins Oct.16 while Pitt will be arriving to shoot his scenes on Nov. 1.

War Machine, based on the best-selling book The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America's War in Afghanistan by the late Michael Hastings will tell the story of "a four-star, 'rock star' general whose lethal reputation and impeccable track record vaults him to command the American war in Afghanistan."

The film will be one of the first movies produced by Netflix as it continues to create its own original content. The video-streaming-company is putting in a lot of money into the project putting War Machine on par with most Hollywood releases.

"In a world where the cinemas are full of licensing and franchises, this is really a big-budget deal for an original, independent movie," a source close to the production told The National.

War Machine directed by David Michod also stars Topher Grace, Will Poulter and Anthony Michael Hall.Wade Sheridan> BNN
